Steps to Salvation

The word salvation means to be made whole.  Christ desires to embrace every area of your life and for you to walk in His freedom. This is freedom from sin and every work of Satan against your life.  Let us explain the process of becoming born-again, or salvation, according to the scriptures.

Step 1:  Recognize that we are all sinners and in need of a Savior

  • The Bible tells us no one is holy or righteous. Even though we try to do right, it is not good enough.  (Romans 3:10)
  • Each of us have sinned and are called sinners, we fall short of the standard that God requires of us.  God doesn’t compare us to one another, as we often do.  Instead, He looks at us in relationship to His Son, Jesus Christ, the perfect One. In truth, we all fall short of this comparison. (Romans 3:23)
  • When we die we will receive a wage, and if we die in our sin that wage is eternal death. This is a spiritual death; an eternal death called hell, or the place of eternal torment.  (Romans 6:23)

Step 2:  Recognize God’s love for you

  • God loves you and has worked out a plan for you. He does not want you to die in your sin; His plan was for His Son to come to earth and take your sin upon His on body. He became your sin, He paid your punishment and He took your hell. Because of His suffering on the cross, He was able to make an everlasting covenant with God the Father to bring sons and daughters into His Kingdom. He died for you on the cross, because He loves you.  (Romans 5:8)
  • Eternal life is a gift.  You cannot earn it, pay for it or be good enough for it.  You receive this gift just as you would any gift that someone gives you. You reach out and take it, freely.  Today this free gift is offered to you. (Romans 6:23)

Step 3:  Repent and accept Jesus Christ into your heart and life

  • The word tells us to confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus, what He did for us on the cross and believe that God raised Him from the dead.  The Lord sees our hearts and hears our genuine confession and saves us.  At that very moment, you are born again and salvation has come into your life. (Romans 10:9-10)
  • If you believe and trust upon
    • the scriptures
    • that Jesus died on the cross to become your Lord and Savior
    • is the only way to heaven, then please say this prayer:
“Dear Lord Jesus,
I admit that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that you died and rose again for my sins. I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will.
In His name,
Amen.”
Congratulations! It really is that simple!  We are so excited you have decided to make the most important decision in your life. Welcome to the family of God!
